The Process of Creating your Custom Pet Portrait
When I have received several photographs of your pet via email, I will select the photograph that will make the
best painting and discuss it with you before I begin.

The Sketch
After studying the features like the eyes, nose, expressions and fur, I begin the sketch being careful not to lose the expression which says so much about the animals personality.

The First Wash
Next I add the first wash of light values usually in cool and warm shades to start to establish the shape of the head.

Eyes and Darker values
Next I paint in the eyes and the painting begins to come to life- I now have a friend. The eyes will also help establish the dark values.

Finished Painting
Darker values and detail work like the collar and scarf are added. When I'm happy with it, I will email you a photograph of the painting for approval.
